SYNOPSIS : An island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, modern day. Luigi, a scholar of mythology and esotericism, drags a young priest into a forest in search of an ancient gate to Hell. Forty years earlier, little Luigi lives with his sixty-year-old uncle, a naïve painter considered by people to be a crazy and cursed artist. The man told his nephew that a few years earlier his parents had left on a long journey, but the little boy never believed it and his uncle’s last painting – a couple holding hands on the threshold of a dark cave – seems to want to send him a specific message.
