SYNOPSIS : Bruce Cooper, a M?ori street poet from Fairfield, Hamilton, shares four raw and reflective poems inspired by the signs, streets, and stories of his neighbourhood — a corner of Fairfield known as Poets’ Corner. Shot with a bold DIY spirit, the film blends lo-fi charm with poetic grit. Cardboard props stand in for the real world — a spiralling set of hand-cut bars frames Bruce as he recites “The Lion and the Lamb,” a dark cardboard city looms behind him in another, and a makeshift mic crackles with static as he gives voice to the forgotten. Honest, creative, and deeply rooted in place, The View from Poets’ Corner turns everyday struggle into spoken word theatre.
