SYNOPSIS : MAUK is a short video registration (17 min.) of a performance by JDOF. The performance is a mixture of film and dance. Because of the interaction between what happens on stage and screen the two art forms complement each other. This especially shows in the duet performed by Symke Nieboer, when she is dancing with the film version of herself and movement and static imagery seem to merge fluently. The visual style is inspired by Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher.
