SYNOPSIS : Studying in the United States has long been a quality choice for Chinese students seeking further education. Once, the distant shores across the Pacific offered superior academic resources along with the chance to experience a different culture and way of life. Yet with the new administration coming into power, shifting policies, and an increasingly complex international climate, the everyday lives of Chinese students in the U.S. are being quietly reshaped.
Through interviews with Chinese students who studied in the U.S. at various points in time, this film examines how broader historical contexts have shaped the students’ personal experiences in different ways. Above all, it seeks to reveal the genuine warmth of human connection in extraordinary times.
